The group meets and decides on the Geography Club name to keep it private. Russel doesn’t suck at sport, but neither is he that good, he’s not the best looking guy in school, but neither is he a dork, hartjnger clever but not brainy, his biggest problem is the locker room and all those naked jocks.

It kind of reminds me of a Matt Christopher book, but with gay kids. Perhaps this is due to my own ignorance, but I feel like today a lot more adults and brenf would be accepting. I am Brent Hartingerand I live to write. And really, can any relationship be kept a secret and stay a relationship?

The emotions developed by the events that unfold, are never belittled or oversimplified. And my work load from the beginning of the year is unimaginable, so it was a feat. And I adapted Geography Club into a stage play, which has now been produced all over the country.

I had a four-hour layover when I geotraphy there about two weeks ago, en route for Glasgow, and I made an uncomfortable beeline for gate D6, having stumbled off the red-eye furious, sweaty and exhausted. At school Kevin and his jock friends make fun of the school outcast Brian Bund and Russel joins in.
I normally read VERY slowly, but to finish this in not even an entire day says something. Another gay boy, in his very own school? Second, I don’t care if it’s to “take the fall” for the gay kids – Brian geofraphy their sexualities and because of this they let him into the club as some sort of honorary gay kid even though homophobia is never something that he will fear in hartnger adult life. All in all Geography Club was pretty much average. It’s definitely a book that explores the topic in a real way, and isn’t derrogatory or condescending.

There was a scene in the book where Kevin kind of said that he like boys who takes risk and Russel want to do that, for Kevin. They’re so flawed-so flavored-and that makes them so, so real. Again, great YA book.
